Helen B. Rice, 104, formerly of Hazleton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010 at the Royal Care Nursing Home in Avon Park, Fla.

Born Aug. 29, 1906 in Petersburg, she was the daughter of William and Mamie (Robertson) Burkhardt. 

She was a homemaker and lived in Avon Park sine 1964 moving there from Roseville, Mich. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Avon Park.

 Survivors include a son, John Rice of Avon Park, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ellis Rice in 1981.

 Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at in the Hazleton Community Cemetery, with the Rev. Mike Tarner officiating. 

Burial will follow the services. There will be no visitation.

Friends and family will meet at the cemetery. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton is handling arrangements.
