Nellie B. Thorne, 91 of Patoka, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2010 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton

 Nellie was born Jan. 29, 1919 in Washington, Ind. to William P. and Pauline (Stears) Moore.

She was a member of the Patoka United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 50 years.  She was also a member of the Patoka Order of Eastern Star 281 for 65 years and was one of the four Pink Ladies who donated more than 10,000 hours of service.  She was owner/operator with her husband of Thorne Texaco.

 She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Diane (Tom) Bryant of Patoka, Janet (Joe) Biehl of Sun City West, Ariz., Karen (Larry) Bethe of Elberfeld; brothers, Rev. Frank (Mary) Moore of Wisconsin, Robert (Wilma) Moore of Evansville; seven grandchildren, Debbie Bryant, Rebecca (James) Little, Jennifer (David) Walrod, Jacquelyn (Joe) Fabey, Kevin (Kristi) Pfeiffer, Kurt Pfeiffer, Kyle (Kim) Pfeiffer; seven great- grandchildren, Ava and Ethan Little, Jeffrey Walrod, Mikaela Fabey, Alexis and Kellen Pfeiffer, Melanie Pfeiffer; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Alice (Wayne) Carey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Verner Frank Thorne in 1986; brother, James Moore in 1994; great--grandson, Jeremiah Walrod in 2006; and an infant sister, Inez Moore. 

 Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Daniel Payton officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka. 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Colvin Funeral Home with an Order of Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.
