The Death of Mrs. Sally Short, wife J. L. Short, occurred Tuesday evening about 6 o'clock, caused from typhoid fever.  She had been confined to her bed about ten days and nothing that medical science or the kindly ministrations of friends would alleviate the fatal sickness.

Mrs. Short was 37 years, nine months and four days old, and was born and raised in Owensville.  Her maiden name was Massey, daughter of Abram and Mary Massey; was married to J. L. Short Nov. 9, 1876.

She leaves a husband and seven children to battle with life, without the assistance of a kind wife and affectionate mother.

Mrs. Short professed faith in Christ in 1876, and has since that time been a faithful member of the G. B. church.  Her loss will be greatly deplored by the entire community, as she was known by all as an exemplary Christian lady.  In her death the church loses a true Christian member, her husband a faithful wife, her children a kind mother, and the community a noble woman.  The funeral was held

Thursday at the Regular Baptist church at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by Revs. Nash and Edwards, and the interrment at the I.O.O.F cemetery, attended by a large crowd of sorrowing friends.
