Daniel W. Kendle, a prominent citizen and member of the city council, died at 3:20 o’clock this afternoon at his home in east Monroe Street.

Mr. Kendle’s condition had been alarming for several days and hope for his recovery was soon dispelled in the realization that his illness was of a fatal nature.

The announcement of Mr. Kendle’s death will prove a shock to the community, as he was a leading citizen and had an extensive acquaintance.

The funeral arrangements and a more extended obituary notice will be given tomorrow.
