DIED DECEMBER 17, 1939

 

       MRS. LELAH SPORE

  Mrs. Lelah Spore, 50, died at her home north of Owensville, Sunday evening, after a lingering illness, having been seriously ill the past two months.  Her death will be a big loss to her family, host of friends and the community.  Mrs. Spore was vitally interested in the training of youth and the uplifting of the standards of the younger generation.  She is survived by the husband, J. Horace Spore, two sons, Robert, a teacher at Fulton Ind. and Gerald, at home.  Also, a daughter Mrs. James Cunningham and grandson Larry Cunningham of Owensville; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Ponzer, Elizabethtown, NC, Mrs. Jas. McGregor, Washington, D. C. and three brothers, Porter F. Short, Owensville, Roy D. Short, Mt. Carmel, Ill, and Paul Short, Mt. Vernon.

  Funeral services were held at the Gospel Temple, Wednesday afternoon, in charge of Rev. W. E. Buchanan of Terre Haute.  Burial was in the Owensville cemetery
