Oakland City, Jan. 25 - Mons Dello Buck, 58, suffered a fatal heart attack while at work at the Ditney Hill mine near Elberfeld about 9.a.m. Wednesday. (Another source has date of death as Tuesday January 24, 1956)

 

Born at Linton, March 7, 1897, to George Thomas Buck and Nancy Dell Cooksey Buck, he had resided in this community for the past 25 years. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the Oakland City American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Princeton.

 

Survivors include the wife, Permeatus ‘Polly’; a daughter, Mrs. June Potts of Linton; two sons, Browney of Linton and Gene with the U.S. Army at San Antonio, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Tyron and Mrs. Georgia Andis, both of Linton; and the mother, Mrs. Nannie Buck, also of Linton.

 

A son, Paul, was killed in World War II.

 

Mr. Buck is at the Lamb and Son funeral home pending arrangements.

Oakland City, January 26 – Funeral services for Mons Dello Buck, 58, who suffered a fatal heart attack while at work at the Ditney Hill Coal Mine Tuesday, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lamb and Son Funeral home by the Rev. Joseph Collins and  the Rev. Oakley Russell.

 

Burial will be Saturday, January 28, 1956, in IOOF Cemetery in Augusta.

 

 The Oakland City American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Princeton will conduct graveside rites.

 

Friends may call at the funeral home until the funeral hour.
