DIES OF INJURIES

    Eldorado Ill., Oct. 18--(Special)

Grover C. Woods, 58, of Eldorado, died this morning in the Herrin hospital of injuries suffered last Sunday in an automobile accident near Gorevillle, Ill.  He suffered internal injuries and a broken left leg.

Also injured in the accident were his wife, Elsie, 58, and his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ellis of Bryan, Ohio.  Mrs. Woods was released from the hospital Friday and Ellis was released following first aid treatment, but Mrs. Ellis is still a patient, suffering from internal injuries.

The Woods car collided head-on with an auto driven by Harley Throgmorton of Carterville, Ill., according to state police.  Throgmorton also was severely injured.

A retired signalman for the New York Central railroad, Woods was employed by the company for 36 years.  He started his railroad career at Mt. Carmel and moved to Eldorado in 1921.  Ill health forced his retirement three years ago.

Besides his wife and sister, he is survived by a brother, O. L. Woods, of Harrisburg.

Funeral will be a 1 p.m. Monday in the Martin Funeral Home here.  The Rev. Paul E. Johnson, pastor of the Calvary Baptist church, will officiate and burial will be in White Church cemetery near Princeton. Ind.
