HERMAN J. ELLIOTT  Herman J. Elliott, 59, of 123 S. 13th Street, Vincennes was dead on arrival at  Good Samaritan Hospital at 9 a.m. Tuesday.  He had been ill for the past year.  He was born east of Hazleton on April 23, 1912 and had been a resident of  Vincennes for the past 10 years, moving there from Mt. Carmel, Ill.  He was an  employee of Knox County Farm Bureau; prior to this position he had been manager at Igleheart Elevators for 23 years.  Elliott was a member of Shiloh  United Methodist Church and belonged to Hazleton I.O.O.F. lodge.  Surviving are his wife, Miriam Doris Elliott; two daughters, Mrs Charles  'Carolyn' Person, Mt. Carmel, Ill. and Mrs. Richard 'Barbara' Stiles,  Vincennes; one son, Daniel Elliott, Mt. Vernon; four brothers, Curtner,  Oakland City; Shirley, Winslow; Gordon, Hazleton; and Bryan, Vincennes; nine  grandchildren.  Services will be 2 p.m. (CST) Thursday at Colvin Chapel with Rev. Robert  Burkhardt officiating.  Burial will follow in Shiloh cemetery near Hazleton.  Friends may call at Colvin and Son Mortuary after 3:30 p.m. (CST)  Wednesday.
