Obituary taken from Princeton Clarion dated 9/18/1981:


"Orville Robert [Rogissard]* Alvis, 75, died at
11 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1981 in Sarasota, Fla.

Alvis was born in Mt. Carmel, Ill., May 17, 1906, and had resided in Sarasota for the past five years, moving there from Evansville

 

He was a retired air-conditioning serviceman.

Surviving are one daughter, Karen Davis, Terre Haute, Ind.; three brothers, Kermit F. and Earl Alvis, both of Sarasota, and Cecil Alvis, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Colvin Funeral Home, 425 N. Main, Princeton. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home."

 

*Orville was the son of Nicholas “Nick” Rogissard & Mamie Lee (Camp) Rogissard Alvis.
