Lt. Cmdr. Larry Lee Brown

 

Lt. Cmdr. Larry Lee Brown, 41, died Aug. 7, 1989 in a fall at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.

He was born June 21, 1948 in Sullivan, Ind., and was graduated from Princeton High School.  He and the former Beverly Dick were married June 9, 1968 in Cape Hatteras, N.C.

Brown enlisted in the Navy in 1966, rose up through the enlisted ranks and became a commissioned officer in 1978.  He was promoted to lieutenant commander in 1987, and had served aboard the carrier USS Nimitz for four years. He had resided in Bremerton, Wash., since 1978.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kimberly of Bremerton; a brother, Mark of Terre haute; his stepmother and father, Doretta Mae and Bill Brown Jr. Of Farmers burg; paternal grandparents, the Rev. Roy and Louise Brown of Corona, Calif., and maternal grandfather, Herman Huff of Sullivan.

Funeral services were conducted at Alexander Funeral Home with burial in Center Ridge Cemetery, Sullivan, Ind.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Crossroads Neighborhood Church Building Fund, 7555 Old Military Road NE, Bremerton, Wash. 98310.
