Herschel W. Burnes

 

Herschel W. Burnes, 57, died at 7:46 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 1980, in the Gibson General Hospital.

 

Burnes was born Sept. 21, 1922 in Gibson County.

 

He was a lifetime resident of Gibson County. He was a test board operator for the Princeton Telephone Company and a member of the Princeton V.F.W. He served in World War II.

 

He is survived by his former wife, Elva; three sons, Ronald, Tucson, Ariz.; Steve, Petersburg, and Kenneth, Princeton, and a daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Mason, Princeton.

 

Also surviving are two brothers, Robert, Kankakee, Ill., and Donald, Princeton; three sisters, Mrs. Opal Brown, Vincennes, Mrs. Mabel Lampbert, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Dorothy Willoughby, Lorain, Ohio, and eight grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Kendall Funeral Home. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today. Burial will be in the Providence Church Cemetery.
