Joe Stanley Thompson

  Joe Stanley Thomspon, 70, of Terre Haute died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998 in Terre haure.  He was a self-employed insurance agent with United American Insurance Co.  He was born July 13, 1927, in Princeton to Orris Thompson and Opha Grubb Thompson.  Survivers include his wife, Lena Fudoli Thompson; two sons, Mark Sanderson of Terre Haute and John Thompson of Wild Rose, Wis.; two daughters, Paula Arnett of Terre haurte and Debra Thompson of Belleville, Ill.; on brother, Ralph Thompson of Patoka; two sisters, Lavon Shoultz of Newberg (sic) and Louphoeba Bilderback of Princeton; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Juanita Hale; and one brother, John Howard Thompson.  He attended Youngstown United Methodist Church and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.  The body was cremated and services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Roselawn Funeral Home, with Revs. Sally Carpenter and lamont Bonath officiating.  Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is after 1 p.m. Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers, contibutions may be made to cancer research at Hux Cancer Center, Union Hospital, 1606 N. Seventh St., Terre Haute, Ind.
