Irene Claridge, 94, of Oakland City, IN passed away on Friday Feb. 25, 2005 7:55 P.M. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

She was born on April 12, 1910 in Warrick Co, IN to Phillip and Helen Mary (Schwierch) Freudenberger.

She was a member of Spurgeon United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for several years and was the oldest living member of the church.  She had played piano for the church and Sunday School and was member of United Methodist Women group.

She was preceded in death by he husband Chester Russell Claridge on July 28, 1968, by two grandsons Jim Skinner in 1982,  and Russell Thomas Claridge in 1984.

Surviving children are Bill Claridge of Petersburg, IN, Helen Skinner, Robert Claridge and Naomi June Hadlock all of Oakland City, IN, Jerry Claridge of Lynnville, IN, Wilbur Claridge of Spurgeon, IN, Clayton Claridge of Stendal, IN, and Barbara McCormack of Indianapolis, IN.

Funeral Services will be Monday Feb.28, 2005 2:00 P.M. Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, burial Blackfoot Cemetery near Coe, IN, Rev. Honna Schloss officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Monday at the Chapel.
