TERRY M. COOPER

 

          Terry M. Cooper, 56, of 1819 McDowell Rd. In Vincennes, passed away 10:35 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. He was born in Princeton, the son of Edwin G. And Virginia L. (Mauck) Cooper.

          He graduated from Princeton High School and Vincennes University, and received a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University.  He was retired from the accounting department at Good Samaritan Hospital.  He was married to Karen Ueding on Feb. 27, 1971.

          He was active in the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 634 in Princeton, where he served as treasurer for the past 25 years.  He was past Exulted Ruler of the lodge, served on the Grand Lodge auditing committee for six years, served as past state president of the Indiana Elks Association and was the current director of the convention committee and vice chairman of the past state presidents committee.  He was chairman of the Elks National Foundation committee for Lodge 634.  Also, he was a member of the Eagles in Princeton, where he served as auditor.  Other memberships also include the Harmony Society and Moose in Vincennes.

          He was raised in the Methodist faith and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church with his family.  He held memberships in various professional organizations in the health care field, including the Healthcare Financial Management Association, where he had served on the board of directors.

          He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karen (Ueding) Cooper; his mother, Virginia L. Cooper; three sons, Timothy and his wife, Karla Cooper, of Princeton, Thomas Cooper, who is attending medical school, and Tony Cooper.  He was blessed with two grandchildren, Mackenzi and Tucker Cooper.  He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, E. Gary Cooper, of St. Croix, Ind., Michael Cooper, of Princeton, and Connie Phillips, Of Ocala, Fla.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home, in Vincennes with Fr. Joseph Schwartz officiating.  He will be laid to rest next to his father at the Mauck Cemetery in Owensville, where the family will gather at 12:30 p.m. For interment services.  The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. Friday and request donations may be made in his memory to the Elks National Foundation.
