George F. Copeland, 100, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Beverly Living Center in Petersburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Blanche (Short) Copeland on February 21, 1982 a son, John Copeland in 2003 and a granddaughter Jane Cronin.

He was a boilermaker.

Surviving are his daughter, Betty Beliles of Chicago ,IL; 3 grandchildren, Glenda, Karen and David; 4 great-grandchildren Kelly, Heather, Kathleen and Ryan; and 3 great-great grandchildren, Lauren, Sophie and AJ; a sister-in-law; Thelma Copeland of Evansville, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City. Burial will be in New Liberty Cemetery in Coe. Clayton Claridge will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
