Helen M. Farmer, 94, of Oakland City, IN entered rest on Wednesday August 1, 2007 at 10:10 P.M. at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg, IN.

She was born on May 30, 1913 in Princeton, IN to Clarence and Edythe (Shannon) Morton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother William Morton, and her husband Robert P. Farmer in 1966.

She was involved in the family Lumber Business (Morton Lumber Company) and Wilkinson Lumber Company and was employed for 9 ½  years at Oakland City, Columbia Township, Public Library.

She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church for 83 years, also a member of Gamma Omega Chapter of Kappa, Kappa, Kappa, Oakland City Garden Club, Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Gibson General Hospital, and a local Bridge Club.

Surviving her is a daughter and son-in-law: Sally (Mark) Duncan of Oakland City, IN; granddaughter and husband: Ginger (Steve) Schenks of Oakland City, IN; grandson and wife: Christopher (Mandy) Duncan of Oakland City, IN; great Grandson Eli and Luke Schenks and Canyon Duncan; nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Amber Manor for caring for their mom.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday August 6, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, burial in Montgomery Cemetery, Dr. Douglas Low will officiate.

Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00P.M. Sunday and from 8:00A.M.until services on Monday at the chapel.
