Marie Gieseke, 89, of Princeton, died Thursday, Dec. 30 at The Waters in Princeton.

 

She was born in Oakland City Aug. 22, 1914. She ran a gift shop on U.S. 41 for many years, and she and her husband Sam sold tomatoes to the area public. She was also a housewife farmer and enjoyed poetry.

 

She lived in Princeton for 20 years after moving from the Hazleton area in 1980 Princeton since 1980.

 

She was a former member of the Hazleton Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star #445 in Cynthiana.

 

There are no immediate family members surviving; only several close friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992.

 

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Hazleton Community Cemetery, Rev. Edmond Harris officiating. There will be a private visitation and friends will meet at the cemetery for services at 2 p.m. Colvin Funeral Home of Princeton is in charge of arrangements.
