Joyce Carol “Heard” McNew, 72, of Mackey, IN passed away on Thursday September 15, 2005 at 10:32 A.M. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

She was born on March 8, 1933 in Evansville to Louis B. and Alma Marie (Buroker) Heard.

She was a graduate of Central High School in 1951. She retired from Charles Leich Company in 1993.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Louise Byrne; infant brother, Charles Bernard Heard; a great nephew.

She was a avid animal lover and supporter of the Humane Society.

Surviving is her husband of 38 years Eddie McNew; a brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Eileen Heard of Evansville, IN; nieces, Dorothy Murphy, Mary Jo Woods, Shari Beth Wilkinson, Tami Brown; nephews, Joey Byrne, Dennis Byrne, Rickie Byrne, Michael Heard; eight great nephews; eight great nieces; three great-great nieces; and a great-great nephew.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday September 18, 2005 at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Winslow, IN.

Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City is in charge of arrangements.
