Alean J. “Hill” Rutledge, 91, of Princeton, IN formerly of Oakland City, IN passed away on Saturday April 23, 2005 at 8:15 P.M. at The Waters in Princeton, IN.

She was born on October 13, 1913 in Gibson County, IN to John and Mary (Kahaley) Burns.

She was a life member of Oakland City American Legion Post # 256 and life member Erie Eagles Lodge in Oakland City, IN.  She was a homemaker and had worked at Johnson’s Restaurant, Powers Café and American Legion all in Oakland City, IN.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Ann Hill in 1949; two grandchildren, Debra Bishop-Willis and Mark A. Bishop; two husbands, John Hill and Hershel Rutledge.

Surviving are:  Children, Elnora Teeters and Patricia Bishop both of Princeton, IN, Pam Helsley of Petersburg, IN, Robert Hill of Princeton, IN and Larry Hill of Oakland City, IN; ten grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 18 step-great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; a brother, Bertis Burns of Bossier City, Louisiana; two sisters, Etta Mae Stewart of Francisco, IN and Lorene Hopkins of Oakland City, IN.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday April 27, 2005 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, burial in Providence Cemetery near Francisco, IN, Rev. Darin D. Nossett officiating.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Wednesday at the chapel.
