George Sidney Skelton, 80, of Winslow, IN passed away on Monday April 3, 2006 at 5:40 P.M. at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City, IN.

He was born on March 19, 1926 in Warrick Co, IN to Joseph and Minnie (Bridgenbage) Skelton.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Orvil Skelton and a sister, Marie Judkins.

He was very active member of the Arthur General Baptist Church and a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #1147 in Princeton, IN.  He retired from Old Ben Coal Mine #1 and worked for Adams & Morrow and Walter Scott.  He was a very avid fisherman, liked gardening and bowling.

He served in World War II in the Army.

Surviving are:  Wife, Shirley Skelton; children, Michael Skelton of Acworth GA, Debra Bean (husband Joe) of Oakland City, IN, Susan Kell and husband Fred of Loganville, GA; step children, Daniel Mans (wife Terri) of Princeton, IN, Laura Mans of Blairsville, GA, Linda Graves of Hiawassee, GA: brother, Charles Skelton of Chrisney, IN; sister, Martha McCloud of Wimego, KS; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews..

Funeral services will be Thursday April 6, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at the Arthur General Baptist Church, in Arthur, IN., burial in Providence Cemetery near Francisco, IN, with Rev. Terry Beadles officiating.

Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Thursday at the Church.
