Margaret Fern Arthur age 94 died 12:42 p.m. Friday Sept.5, 2006 at the Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Princeton. She was born Sept. 17, 1911 in Patoka, IN to William Perry and Sarah Theresa (Turpin) Hargrove. 

Fern was a homemaker and had resided in
Princeton since 1956, moving there from Patoka. She was a active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Princeton, where she was involved in the Women’s Association, having served as Chairman, and had been a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #281 of Patoka, where she had been a member for over 50 years. She was a Past Worthy Matron and had served as Secretary for over 20 years 

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Joan Fern and Noah Shouse of Kokomo, IN and Janet and Marcus Petty of Silver Springs FL, five grandchildren, Phyllis Crow, Bellview, Fl, Richard D. Rogerson, Brookston, IN, Eric Petty and Ralph Petty both of CA, and Ted Petty, Orlando, Fl. She had eleven great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Devin Arthur on
Aug. 26, 2004, one brother, two sisters, and two grandchildren, Brent Arthur Petty and Gloria Jane Rogerson

Funeral services will
2 p.m. Saturday Sept. 9, 2006 at the Colvin Funeral Home with the Rev. David Brookman officiating burial will be in the Decker Cemetery, rural Patoka. Friends may call at the Colvin Funeral Home from 3 until 7 p.m. Friday Sept.8, where an Eastern Star Memorial Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday.
