John Boten, 88, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at his home after a long illness. He moved to Oakland City from Williamsport, In. in 1976. 

He had worked as a foreman and driver for Rose Brother's Trucking Company of Terre Haute, In. 

He was a 50 year member of the F&AM Lodge #597 at Center Point, In. 

He was preceded in death by: Wife,Marjorie (Brown) Boten died in 2001, Parents, Oltmann & Anna Hayn Boten, 2 brothers & a sister. 

Surviving are a daughter, Diane Watkins, Oakland City, IN; son, William Boten; Durham, N.C.; sister, Alice Miles, Danville, IL; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. 

Services 2 p.m. EST Wednesday at the Center Point Cemetery.
