Charles "Doug" Brown age 82 passed away Saturday Sept. 27, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Evansville.

 

Doug was born in Hansen, KY May 17, 1926 to Walter B. and Charlotta (Dockery) Brown. He had lived in Princeton sine 1958 moving here from Evansville. He was a retired coal miner working for AMAX Coal Mine. He was W.W.II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1147, Eagles Arie 361 and United Mine Workers Union Local 1791. He attended the New Horizon Fellowship Church in Evansville

He is survived by three daughters; Sarah (Chuck) Sonoma, Chandler, IN, Cindy (Jerry) Young, Perryville, KY, Jackie (Bret) West, Beaver Creek, OH, one son; Jeff (Sheelah) Brown, Princeton, step-son; Russell A. (Rose) Horn, Wills Point TX, eleven grandchildren, Shawn Dean, Eric Dill, Chad Fulton, Michael Tremper, Michelle Johnson, Jennifer Puckett, Andy Dill, Eli Brown, Jacqueline Brown, Jimmy Burton and Samantha Brown 19 great grandchildren, sisters; Penny Vaughn, Chattanooga, TN, Jonelle Snodgrass, Evansville, and Tina Reddick, Evansville. Also a special friend Wilma "Billie" Reising,
Evansville. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Velma Thompson Brown in 1992, and a daughter Charley Dill in 1999, sisters Ann Turner and Jewel Emerson. 

Funeral Services will be held
11 a.m. Wednesday Oct 1, 2008 at the Colvin Funeral Home with the Rev, Larry Meadows and Rev. Carl Mann officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia "White" Church Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Colvin Funeral Home. V.F.W. Post 1147 will conduct military graveside services.
