A.B. "Coxie" Cox, Jr., 83, passed away on Wednesday March 12, 2008 at the VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville.

 

A.B. was a member of the Columbia General Baptist Church in Princeton and a member of the American Legion. He was also a WWII veteran serving in the US Marines. He did many things throughout his life including working in the oilfields, selling cookware, selling cars, truck driving, dispatcher, tour bus driver and a bass fisherman and tour guide. 

He was born on
October 12, 1924 in Carmi, Illinois to Acton B. Cox Sr. & Ruby (Johnson) Cox, both deceased. Also preceding him in death was his wife of 58 years, Doris Mae (McGhee) Cox in 2006; son, Thomas J. Cox; infant daughter, Cindy L. Cox; and a brother, William Robert Cox. 

A.B. is survived by his 5 children and their spouses, William R. (Linda) Cox of Princeton, Stephen B. (Theresa) Cox of Dawson Springs, Ky., Jerry W. (Deanna) Cox of Francisco, Vicky L. (Charles) Alsip of Evansville, and Patty S. (Jerry) Richey of Huntingburg; daughter-in-law, Diana G. Cox of Ponca City, OK; 9 grandchildren, Billy Cox, Shaun Cox, Jeremiah Cox, Angel Ash, Rebekah Lile, Brent Young, Jannie Young, Joshua Cox, and Joyce Ann French; 10 great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. 

Funeral Services will be held at
2:00 PM on Sunday March 16, 2008 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the Fr. Bernie Etienne officiating. Burial will be at the Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.

 

Friends may visit from 4 until 8 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. VFW Post #1147 will conduct military graveside services.
