Doris M. Cox, age 79 of Princeton, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at the Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

 

During WWII, she worked at Republic Aviation building fighter aircraft. She retired from Potter & Brumfield in 1989. She also worked at K-Mart of Princeton and for the Patoka Township Assessor. She was a member of the American Legion and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. 

She was born
July 5, 1926 in Carmi, Illinois to Hylas & Reba (Gott) McGhee, both deceased. She is also preceded in death by her son, Thomas J. Cox; daughter, Cindy L. Cox; 2 brothers, H.L. McGhee Jr. and Hubert D. McGhee. 

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, A.B.“Coxie” Cox of Princeton; 5 children and their spouses, William R. (Linda) Cox of Princeton, Stephen B. (Theresa) Cox of Kuttawa, Ky, Jerry W. (Dee) Cox of Francisco, Vicky L. (Charles) Alsip of Evansville, and Patti S. (Jerry) Richey of Huntingburg; daughter-in-law, Diana G. Cox of Ponca City, OK; 9 grandchildren, Billy Cox, Shaun Cox, Jeremiah Cox, Angel Ash, Rebekah Truitt, Brent Young, Jannie Young, Joshua Cox and Joyce Ann French; 9 great grandchildren and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; sister, Betty L. Pyle of DuQuoin, Il. 

Funeral Services will be held on
Monday January 16, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Father Bernie Etienne officiating. Burial will be at the Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.

 

Friends may call from 4 until 8 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
