Dorothy A. (Saalweachter) Gasaway, 84 of Princeton passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

 

She was an active member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Church in Ft. Branch, IN. She was a member of the St. Paul’s Women’s Guild. Dorothy retired in 1987 as a Head Cook in the South Terrace Elementary School Cafeteria of North Posey School Corp after 12 years. She also owned her own ceramic shop in Posey County. Dorothy was a member of the VFW Post# 1114 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Center, their art class, and was a part of their Rhythm Band the "Doodle-De-Doers". 

Dorothy was born on
August 4, 1923 in Evansville to Jacob & Clara (Mundorf) Saalweachter, both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Gasaway in 1999. 

She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Donna & Dave Coomer of Princeton; 2 grandchildren, Carrie House of Evansville and David (Jaclyn) Coomer Jr. of Princeton; 6 great grandchildren, Christian, Logan, and Breigh Anna House and Madison, Kaiden & Zen Coomer; sister, Mary Marse of New Harmony, IN; brother, Edward (Dorothy) Saalweachter of Wadesville; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday October 15, 2008 at 2 PM at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Hwy 168, Ft. Branch, IN officiated by Pastor John Heumann. Burial will be at the
St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Ft. Branch.

 

Friends may visit from 4 until 8 PM on Tuesday at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton and from 1 PM until service time on Wednesday at the church.
