Harold "Dick" Gibbs, age 80, passed away on Thursday February 2, 2006 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.

 

Dick was a teacher & Principal in Grayville, Illinois for 13 years and later he retired from Potter & Brumfield as an accounts payable supervisor after more than 20 years. He was a member of the Hillside United Methodist Church. He was an avid bowler and was a passionate U.K. basketball fan. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1949 

He was born on October 8, 1925 in Murray, Kentucky to Ed & Flora (Phillips) Gibbs, both deceased. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Barbara Jean Gibbs in 1986, 1 brother, Joe Ed Gibbs, 2 sisters, Ann Eva Sutton and Lou Ella Ellegood. 

Dick is survived by his daughter & her friend, Tonya Sutherlin and Charlie Giles of Bloomington and a daughter and her husband, Twyla & Jim Johnson of Princeton; 3 grandchildren, April Sutherlin, Nikki Reed and Melissa Johnson; a great granddaughter, Holly Madelyn Reed; 1 sister, Kathleen Ewing of Newburgh. 

Funeral Services will be held at
10 AM on Monday, February 6, 2006 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the Pastor Brian Cook officiating. Burial will be at the Barnett Cemetery in Murray, Ky.

 

Friends may call from 3 until 6 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
