George H. "Jack" Gordon, 83, son of William Greely Gordon & Altha (Jackson) Gordon was born May 12, 1924 in Vincennes, IN & departed this life on September 15, 2007 at 4:20 AM at the Waters of Princeton.

 

He was employed by Potter & Brumfield for 15 years and then he was employed by Emge Packing Co. for 15 years. He also was the custodian at United Presbyterian Church and later at Hillside United Methodist Church for 20 years until he retired in 1997. 

He was a member of the Oasis Assembly of God and served as a member of the usher board & was a Royal Ranger Teacher. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Greely & Altha (Jackson) Gordon; 3 brothers, Thomas, James "Jim", and Lehman Gordon; 4 sisters, Marjorie Smith, Letha Malone, Virginia Martin, & Viola Webster. 

George is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Lou (Tucker) Gordon; 3 daughters, Tonja (Lyles) Khan, Sheena Gordon, & Trina Gordon all residing in Princeton; 1 son, Marlon Gordon of Vincennes, IN; 2 sisters, Mamie Washington and Maxine Cheatman both of Pasadena, CA; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday September 19, 2007 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Mike Marsh officiating. Burial will be at the White Church Cemetery in Princeton.

 

Friends may visit from 4 until 8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. VFW Post #1147 will conduct military graveside services.
