Robert "Bob" Harmon, aged 84, died on January 6, 2008 at his home in Princeton, Indiana.

 

Bob was born on June 18, 1923 in Lincoln, Nebraska and spent his youth in Wichita, Kansas.

 

In 1950 he married and traveled to Northern California, where he lived for 53 years, until moving to Princeton.

 

Bob is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Karla and Butch Davis of Princeton, as well as daughters and sons-in-law Jill and Andy Cortez of Mechanicsville, VA; Lorelei and Bill Carr of Oroville, CA; and Lynne and John "Razz" McMinn of Vacaville, CA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Janine Anthis (Joe); Kyle Cortez, Ross Cortez, Ryan DeNure (Darla), Anjalyn DeNure, Erica Reynoso (Chava), Holly Eskridge (Nathan), Lindsey DeNure, Kelley Steffey (Jason), and Kristian McMinn. Two step-granddaughters, Julie Vittori (George) and Stephanie Dewus (Matt) welcomed Bob as family when he moved to Indiana from California in 2003. In addition, Bob had twelve great-grandchildren: Alex, Hayden, Jacob and Wyatt; Chelsey, Jacob and Savannah; William, Jocelyn and Warren; Austin; and Jack. Sister-in-law Mitsue Harmon also survives. 

Bob served in the Army Air Corp and had an extensive knowledge and love of airplanes. He spent many years as a firefighter. He loved fishing and boating in the lakes and rivers of
Northern California, was very talented and creative, and loved a good joke. 

Bob married again in 1977. Preceding him in death were his wife, Leigh, his parents, Joseph Albert and Mabel Anna Harmon, and his brother, David Eugene Harmon.

A memorial service will be held at
5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Blythe Chapel UMC in Owensville, Indiana. Pastor Mark Fernihough will officiate. 

There will be no visitation. Colvin Funeral Home in
Princeton is handling the arrangements.
