Verlie D. Harvey, age 83 of Princeton, Indiana passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the Gibson General Hospital Skilled Care Unit.

 

Verlie worked at Ed Harvey Farm Supply family business. She was a past member of the Lady Elks, Eastern Star, and was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader in her younger years. Her passion was to piece quilts, and many of these quilts she sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. She also in the last few years started her own quilt shop called the "Little Red Schoolhouse". Verlie loved to feed birds and to play cards with family and friends, teaching many of them to play bridge. 

She was born
March 10, 1922 in Lawrence Co., Illinois to John Alva & Nannie B (Sowder) Ahlemann, both deceased. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Ed Harvey in 1984 and a sister, Pauline Bowman. 

She is survived by her daughter, Nan Harvey of Bloomington; son, Michael Harvey of Princeton, 3 grandsons, Lance & Blaik Harvey of Princeton and Benjamin Dailey of Bloomington; 3 sisters, Hazel Grubb of Evansville, Mary Loewen of Bradenton, Florida, and Alice Whittington of Princeton; sister-in-law, Helen Harvey of Princeton. 

Funeral Services will be held on
Tuesday January 31, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Ronnie Harvey officiating. Burial will be at the White Church Cemetery in Princeton.

 

Friends may call from 4 until 8 PM on Monday at the Funeral Home.
