Joe D. Horath age 67 passed Tuesday Jan. 16, 2007, 7:35 a.m. at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.

 

He was born in Owensville In. Feb. 24, 1939 to Charles and Gertrude (Woods) Horath.

 

He was retired from Old Ben #2 coal mine in Pike County where he worked as a trainload outman

Joe had lived in Patoka for the past three years moving there from Princeton where he had lived most of his life. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. He enjoyed fishing and boating on the Kentucky and Barkley Lake’s, which he did for many years. He also enjoyed his citizens band radio. 

He is survived by his wife: Virginia (Ritchie) Horath, Princeton; 2 daughters and sons–in-law; Vickie and Rusty Turpin, Patoka and Tamara and John Wagner, Princeton, one sister, Jean Roberts, Wooster, OH, four grandchildren; Dustin and his wife Tara Turpin, Heather and her husband Jason Lauer, Joshua Wagner and Mike Wagner, four great-grandchildren: Dalton Turpin, Peyton Lauer, Alan Turpin and Rachel Pollock. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Marcella Schwartz and Louise Zaner and brother Melvin Ray Horath 

Funeral Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday Jan 19, 2007 at the Colvin Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Meadows officiating, burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton.

 

Friends may call at the Colvin Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. till the service time on Friday.
