Betty Jo Land, 76, of Princeton, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005 at River Oaks Health Campus, in Princeton.

 

She was born April 19, 1928 in Oakland City

She had lived in
Princeton for 57 years after moving there from Oakland City. She was a housewife and a former Cub Scout Mother. She loved gardening, working puzzles and doing family genealogy, and was a great reader. 

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Edna (Miller) Scales and a brother, Buddy Scales. 

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Warren Land; three sons and daughters-in-law, Reg and Eleanor Land, of Indianapolis, Kim and Lora (Pug) Land, of Fort Branch and J.C. and Misti Land, of Darmstadt; four grandchildren, Greg Herrell, Kimberly Land, James Land and Heather Land; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Lohe; two sisters, Thelma Belcher, of Princeton and Frankie Scott, of Patoka; and two brothers, Don Scales, of Patoka and Randy Scales, of Princeton. 

Funeral services will be at
11 a.m. Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home, conducted by Chaplin John Lefler. Final disposition will be at Columbia (White Church) Cemetery.
