Gilbert Arnold, 76, of Princeton, IN, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2003 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, IN.

 

He was born to the late Bunyan and Rena Mae (Hardison) Arnold on June 11, 1927 in Nonell, KY.

 

Gilbert was a caring and loving family man, who loved life to it’s fullest. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton, IN. Gilbert was retired from Emge Meat Packing after 23 years and Swift Meat Packing after 22 years.

 

Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by a step-son Harold W. “Bill” Spindler in 1986, a brother, Dincel Arnold in 1999, and a sister Geneva Hall in 2002.

 

Gilbert is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary (Stratman) Arnold, 3 children, Sheri Boulos of Miami, FL, Paula Martin of Columbia City, IN, and Harold Arnold of Evansville, IN. Gilbert has one sister surving, Pauline Grisham of Evansville, IN. Also, 9 Step-children, Joyce Allen of Fort Branch, IN, Carolyn Goedde of Wadesville, IN, Donna Swader of Fort Branch, Miriam Gauger of Evansville, IN, Bernard Spindler of Haubstadt, IN, Wayne Spindler of Haubstadt ,IN., Leland Friend of Newburgh, IN, Tom Friend of Mill Shoals, IL, and William friend of Evansville, IN.  He also has 8 grandchildren, 21 step-grandchildren, and 13 step-great grandchildren.

 

A mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Thursday, December 18, 2003, at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton, IN. Father Bernie Etienne will be the celebrant.  Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Haubstadt, IN.

 

Friends may call for visitation on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home, located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, and again on Thursday morning at the church from 9:00 A.M. until service time. A Rosary will be conducted on Wednesday evening at the funeral home at 7:30 P.M. by the church parish.
