Kenneth V. Blackard, 84, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2005 at the Woodbridge Health and Rehab Center in Evansville, IN.

 

He was born to the late Jess and Esther (Ingleman) Blackard on Sept. 13, 1920 in rural Fort Branch, IN.

 

He was a member of the Bethel Memorial Church in Princeton, IN. Kenneth was a WWII Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy with the Sea Bees. He was a member of the Haubstadt American Legion.  He was an avid fisherman and was devoted to his faith. Kenneth was retired from the Emge Meat Packing Co., where he worked as a welder and an engineer, after 34 years of service.

 

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve (Adams) Blackard with whom he had been married to for 64 years in May of this year; 1 son, Brent, of Mt. Juliet, TN; and 4 grandchildren, Scott, Rodney, Lindsay, and Sean Blackard.

 

Services for Kenneth will be on Friday, August 12th at 2:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch. Pastor Kevin Wilson will officiate, burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN.

 

Friends may call for visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, August 11th, 2005 from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
