Bobby Joe Blanton, 76, of Fort Branch, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2005 at the River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, Indiana.

 

He was born on January 11, 1929 in Hazelton, Indiana to the late Joe and Esther (Tolbert) Blanton.

 

He was a member of the Fort Branch Presbyterian Church. Bob was a Korean war veteran and was a member of the Princeton VFW Post 1147 . He was retired from the Emge Meat Packing, where he had worked for 39 years.

 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois (Sullivan) Blanton; three children, Larry Blanton and Mike Blanton both of Fort Branch, Indiana and Judy Fredericks of Darmstadt, Indiana; three bothers, Jackie Lee Blanton of Winterhaven, FL, Jimmy Ray Blanton of Evansville, IN and Jerry Blanton of Mt. Olympus, IN; 4 grandchildren.

 

Services for Bob will be on Monday, April 18th, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home, located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch. Burial will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN. Reverend Sam Sterrett will be officiating.

 

Friends may call for visitation at the funeral home on Sunday, April 17 2005, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The Princeton VFW 1147 will be conducting military services at the cemetery.
