Colemon Davis, 78, of Fort Branch, IN., went to be with the lord, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, IN.

 

He was born on July 28, 1930 in Madisonville, KY to Basil and Lonie (Gipson) Davis.

 

Colemon loved to build River Cabins and loved animals. He also loved his grandchildren very much. He retired from the Keensburg underground coalmine in Keensburg, IL. He was of the Protestant Faith.

 

He is preceded in death by his father and a brother, Gene Davis, who is missing in action in Cambodia during the Vietnam War.

 

He is survived by his wife, Minnie (Miller) Davis; his mother, Basil E. Davis of Francisco, IN; 2 children, Tim Davis of Princeton, IN, and Deborah Sue Grissom of Patoka, IN; 3 grandchildren, Scott, and Brian Smith, and Billy Walker; 2 great grandchildren, Haley Smith, and Dakota Walker; 3 sisters and 3 brothers, Betty Fritz of Evansville, IN., Shirley Strickland of Oakland City, IN., Joyce Young of Francisco, IN., Eddie Davis of Princeton, IN., Vernon Davis of Detroit, MI., and Melvin Davis of TN.

 

Private family services and visitation will be conducted at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch. Pastor Kevin Wilson will officiate, and burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch.
