Mary Ellen Halbig, 71, passed away on November 23, 2008 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton IN.

She was born in Evansville IN on May 8, 1937.

She was united in marriage on November 30, 1957 to Eugene Bernard “Gene” Halbig.

Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton, IN and a member of the Womens Auxiliary Post 1147 in Princeton, IN.

She is preceded in death by her mother Tina Louise Arney; her husband Gene Halbig in 2002; and sisters Thelma Ilene Styers and Tina Louise “Jackie” Knight.

She is survived by her five sons, Wayne (Cathy) of Princeton, Christopher (Mary) of Princeton IN Robert (Shirley) of Haubstadt IN Keith (Betty) of Princeton IN Kenneth (Shawnee) of Princeton IN; 13 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Two sisters Marilyn Joyce "Sis" Beckman of Hudson FL and Henrietta Crane of Evansville; two brothers Donald Eugene Massey of Indianapolis, IN and Richard Edward Arney of Evansville IN.

Service for Mary Ellen will be on November 26, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton with Father Ron Zgunda officiating Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday November 25, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy 168 West in Fort Branch with a prayer service at 7:30 PM.
