Helen E. (Archer) Messersmith, 87, formerly of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004 at the Franklin United Methodist Home in Franklin, IN.

 

Helen was the wife of the late Murl Messersmith who passed away in 2003.

 

She was born on October 23, 1916 in Princeton, IN to the late David F. and Elizabeth (Gray) Archer.

 

She was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Princeton, and the Fort Branch Order of the Eastern Star. Helen was a graduate from Oakland City College and was a teacher at the Princeton, Fort Branch, Haubstadt and Oak Hill Schools.

 

She is survived by 1 son and 1 daughter, Jan Messersmith of Cove, Oregon, and Sara Lu Wasmuth of Columbus, IN.  Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

 

Graveside services for Helen will be conducted on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004 at 9:00 A.M. at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Francisco, IN.

 

Friends may call for visitation from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, Feb, 18, 2004 at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN.
