Dorothalea (Smith) Reinhart, 89, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on Saturday, May 21st, 2005 at the Owensville Manor Nursing Home.

 

She was born on April 16, 1916 to the late Verner and Bessie (Sumners) Smith in Grayville, IL.

 

She was married on August 1st, 1935 to the late Adrian A. Reinhart Sr. for 61 years until his death on Oct. 17, 1996.  She is also preceded in death by 2 sisters Arlene Pritchett and Vernetta Arbuthnot; grand daughter Tiara Georges; son-in-laws, Michael Bates and Larry Warren; daughter-in-law Julie Reinhart; and grand son-in-law Jody Tyring.

 

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, she was a former president of the VFW Aux. Post 2714, the D of I and the Fort Branch Chapter of A.A.R.P.  Dorothalea taught at Chrissy Kay for 5 years and St James 7th grade for 9 years. She had also worked at Emge Meat Packing in Fort Branch. She was an active leader in both Cub and Boy Scouts, she was a member of the Catholic Action Club at Holy Cross for 15 years. She was the 1982 Indiana State Senior Queen. Dorothalea was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, The Saint Bernadette Aux. and the Holy Cross Altar Society. She was also very active in the camping club, she enjoyed playing cards and washers.

 

Dorothalea is survived by 7 children, Ann (Donald) Georges, Adrian A. Reinhart Jr., Martha Reinhart, Robert (Wasana) Reinhart, Margaret (Irvin) Dickman all of Fort Branch, William (Vicki) Reinhart of Baker LA, and Cathy Warren of Cynthiana, IN; 2 brothers, William Smith of Princeton, IN and Robert Smith of Indianapolis, IN; 26 grandchildren; 48 great grand children; and 3 great great grand children.

 

A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, May 25th, at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Fort Branch, Father Tony Ernst will be the Celebrant, burial will be in the church cemetery.

 

Friends may call for visitation on Tuesday, May 24th, 2005 at the Stodghill Funeral Home, located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a rosary to be recited by the church parish at 7:30 P.M. that evening. There will be visitation on Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M.
