Carolyn S. Rexing, 70, of Haubstadt, IN, passed away on Tuesday, June 13th, 2006 at University Hospital in Louisville, KY.

 

She was born on Nov. 10th, 1935 in Evansville, IN to the late William and Olivia (Tenbarge) Knapp.

 

Carolyn was a member of the Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, a bereavement meal team leader of Sts Peter and Paul, the Altar Society of Sts Peter and Paul, the Saint Bernadette Auxiliary # 345 (Knights of St. John), and the American Legion Post # 194 Women’s Auxiliary.

 

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. Rexing, Feb. 26, 2005; and a brother, Billy Knapp.

 

Carolyn is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters and their spouses, Randy (Leslie) Rexing of Haubstadt, IN, Mike Rexing of Haubstadt, IN, Dave (Elaine) Rexing of Haubstadt, IN, Julie (Jay) Vitzdamn of Haubstadt, IN, and Kim (Stan) Ziliak of Haubstadt, IN; she also has 1 brother and 2 sisters surviving, Alfred Knapp of Evansville, IN, Mary Rose Peak of Evansville, IN, and Jean Goebel of Evansville, IN; 16 grandchildren, Troy, Toni, Taylor, and Teddy Rexing, Eric and Jena Rexing, Phillip, Lee, and Michelle Rexing, Jessica Kruse, and Jamie Elpers, Tyler, Shelbi, Kate, Lauren, and Ryan Ziliak; and 1 great grandchild, Wyatt Kruse.

 

A mass of Christian burial will be conducted at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN on Saturday, June 17th at 9:30 A.M. with burial in the church cemetery. Father Tony Ernst will be the celebrant.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 16th at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and from 8:30 A.M. until 9:15 A.M on Saturday at the church. A Rosary will be recited by the church parish on Friday night at the funeral home at 7:30 P.M.
