Lauretta M. Scoggins, 84, of Fort Branch, IN passed away on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City.

 

She was born to the late George and Lena (Market) Weber on June 2, 1924 in Evansvile, IN.

 

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN, and the Fort Branch VFW Post #2714 Women’s Aux.

 

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Paul Scoggins Sr.; 1 daughter, Kathleen Moore; 6 brothers and sisters, Malinda Dewig, Leo Weber, Ben Weber, Harold Weber, Esther Dewig, and Charlotte May; 9 children and their spouses, Paul (Rita) Scoggins Jr.of Springs TX, Nancy (Dwight) Scoggins-Rose of Waterloo, IA, Russell (Sue) Scoggins of Abington, MA, Bonnie (Don) Adams of Greenville, KY, Jennifer (Jerry) Wright of Owensville, IN, Patricia Scoggins of Iowa City, IA, Julia (Tom) Dohrer of Iowa City, IA, Anita (Tom) Miskell of Mackey, IN, and Terry (Kenny) Taylor of Fort Branch, IN; 1 brother John Weber of Fort Branch, IN; 22 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.

 

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort branch, IN, Fathers Tony Ernst and Gary Kaiser will be the celebrants.  Entombment will be in Holy Cross Mausoleum.

 

Vistation will be on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008 from 4:00P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, and again from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home on Thursday. A rosary will be recited by the church parish at 7:30 P.M. Wed. evening at the funeral home.
