Olivia Ruth Spindler, 80, of Haubstadt, IN passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, IN.

 

She was born on Nov. 13, 1926 in Gibson County, IN. to the late George and Mary (Maikranz) Memmer and has resided in Haubstadt, IN most of her lifetime.

 

Ruth, was a member of the Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, the St. Bernadette Ladies Aux., American Legion Post 194 Ladies Aux. where she was past President and Past Treasurer, the VFW Post 2714 Ladies Aux., the Princeton Eagles, and she was a 4-H Leader for 25 years. Ruth was owner and operator at Spindler Special Shop for 28 years in the Haubstadt area.

 

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by 1 child and 9 brothers and sisters.

 

Ruth is survived by her husband of 60 years, John F. Spindler; 5 children and their spouses, Diana (Larry) Beatty of Evansville, IN, David (Carolyn) Spindler of Indianapolis, IN, Janet (James) Bryant of Evansville, IN, Jerry (Kathleen ) Spindler of Greenwood, IN, and Gregory (Cynthia) Spindler of Indianapolis, IN; 1 sister, Dorothy Spindler of Haubstadt, IN; 13 grandchildren, Aaron and Alan Beatty, Christa Keller, John, Adam and Matthew Spindler, Chad Bryant, Joshua, Kimberley, Kristin, Mary Beth, Alexander and Noah Spindler; 4 great grandchildren, Gretchen and Kaleb Beatty, and Courtney and Carley Keller.

 

A mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday, May 30th, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Sts Peter and Paul Church with burial in the church cemetery, Father Tony Ernst will be the Celebrant.

 

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 29th, 2007 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, where a rosary will be recited by the church parish at 7:30 Tuesday evening. The body will lie in state at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 A.M. until service time.
