Lois Violet Yabrody, formerly Roy, maiden name Harris, passed away on Sunday May 20th, 2007 in Wisconsin.

 

She was born on Dec. 6th, 1918 in Gibson County IN to the late Albert and Elva Harris.

 

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Jerry Von Roy; and her 3 brothers, Ottie, Odie and Harold Harris.

 

She worked as a cashier in the AFL-CIO Union for John Sousie; acetylene Welder on LST- Rurtuat Briggs during World War II; also checked for Greyhound Buses, all in Evansville, IN. She worked in Chicago as a hostess at Ambassodor East, hostess for the famous pump room for breakfast and lunch, Catering Manager at North Park Hotel, model for advertisement in TV and books, Front desk cashier at the Crydon Hotel at 616 N. Rush, worked at inland Steel as a laborer-computer weigher, Cherry picker, and the overhead crane operator.

 

Services will be on June 4th, 2007 at graveside in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN
