Leola A. (Myers) Yockey, 84, of Princeton, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2007 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.

 

She was born on October 15, 1922 to John W. and Bessie (McKinzie) Myers in West Salem, Illinois.

 

She was married on February 18, 1945 to Joseph Louis Yockey. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in February 2007.

 

Leola was a devoted housewife who enjoyed spending her time as a wife, mom, and grandma. She had a love for quilting, crocheting, and baking. She has been a member of Broadway Christian Church for 59 years where she treasured being the Secretary of Sunday School for many years. She will truly be missed by those who knew her as a very loving person.

 

She is survived by her husband, Louis, of Princeton; one daughter, Rose (Greg) Obert of Fort Branch; two sons, Ronald (Patricia) of Fort Branch, and A. Duane (Patty) of Everett, Washington; 11 grandchildren, Lori Spindler, Sarah Spindler, Elizabeth Ivy, Matthew Obert, Stepehen Yockey, Monica Johnson, Anthony Yockey, Lydia O’Connor, Elijah, Jonathan, and Daniel Yockey; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Duane (Mabel) Myers of Huntley, Illinois; one sister, Wenona Myers of Albion, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Marie Myers of West Salem, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, Morley, Lester, Roy, Clifton, and Elbern; and two sisters, Florence and Ina.

 

A special thanks is extended to Rivers Oaks Health Campus and AseraCare Hospice for their excellent care of Leola. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch. Reverend John Dunn will officiate, burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch.

 

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Stodghill Funeral Home.
