Jerry B. Coleman 71 of Oakland City, In. entered rest on Sunday February 8, 2009 at

8:25 a.m. at St. Mary’s Warrick Hospital in Boonville, IN.

He was born on November 9, 1937 in Princeton, IN to Frank and Gladys (Moore) Coleman. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation at 37 years of service, Army Veteran and member of Oakland City American Legion Post # 256 and Oakland City Golf Club and Eagles. He was a passionate athlete and enjoyed golf, baseball, fishing, hunting and basketball and was a IU and Reds fan. He also enjoyed spending time with family, swapping stories and going on golfing trips with his friends. He influenced many lives by coaching and umpiring for 20 years in little league baseball.

He was preceded in death by parents sister Frankie Jean, granddaughter Nicole Kinman and niece Gail Stevens

Surviving is his loving wife of 22 years Nancy (Campbell) Coleman of Oakland City, IN.  Daughter: Shelly (Jeff) Meredith of Rockport, IN.  Sons: Derrick (Sharon) Coleman of Owensboro, KY.  Jay Coleman and Bryan (Megan) Coleman both of Oakland City, IN.  Stepdaughter: Amber Creedon of Jasper, IN.  Stepson: Chad Creedon of Oakland City, IN.  Sister: Ilene Hume of Oakland City, IN.  Niece: Pam Wenberg of Oakland City, IN.  (15) Grandchildren (1) Great-grandson.

Funeral services will be Wednesday Feb.11.2009 10:00 a.m. Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with burial in Williams Cemetery. Rev. James McGillem will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:00 a.m. until services on Wednesday at the chapel.
