Mitzi J. Hartley 71 of Oakland City, IN. entered rest on Monday May 17, 2010 at 11:10 P.M. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

She was born on December 25, 1938 in Somerville, IN. to George Wm. and Elpha (Drew) Briggs 0and was preceded in death by her parent’s, three grandchildren and first husband Alexander Mason Lough.

She is survived by he current husband Ron Hartley. Surviving children are: Tammie (Danny) Jines of Princeton, IN, Teresa Williams of Harrisburg, IL, Gary (Lisa) Lough and Tracey (Kent) Stafford both of Petersburg, IN, Thelma (Telvis) Bell of Somerville, IN, Julie (Robert) Oakman of Winslow, IN, and Rachael (Matthew) Hartley-Smith of Pendleton, IN. And, (25) Grandchildren (27) Great Grandchildren (1) Great Great Grandchild.

Sisters are: Shirley French of Hollow Rock, TN, Billie Pavey and Georgia (Donnie) Curtis both Princeton, IN, Marna (Rod)Miller of Oakland City, IN, Elizabeth (Tom) Ruble of Evansville, IN, and Vickie (Charlie) McGowan of Union, IN.

Brothers: Mike (Brenda) Briggs of Oakland City, IN, Pat (Bea) Briggs of Princeton, IN, Jay (Charlie) Briggs of Holland, IN, Bobby Briggs of Indianapolis, IN, and David (Lori) Briggs of Washington, IN.

She was member of Oakland City American Legion Post # 256 auxiliary where she was Past President and Honorary Life Member, also Oakland City F.O.E. Aerie # 4288 auxiliary.

Funeral services will be Friday May 21, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Oak Grove General Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Phillips officiating with burial in Martin Cemetery near Littles, IN.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Friday.
