Luella I. Johnson, 88, of Mt. Carmel, Ill., passed away on Sunday July 5, 2009 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care and Rehab Center in Mt. Carmel.

Born
Aug. 8, 1920 in Francisco, she was the daughter of James and Edith (Douglas) Marvell.

She married Roy Johnson on
Feb. 23, 1937 in Mt. Carmel.

She was a member of Adam’s
Corner United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Retired Railroad Association and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a housewife.

Survivors include son, Donald E. (Kathrin) Johnson of Bellevue, Neb,; daughter, Jeanne R. (Ben) Neely of Mt. Carmel; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and several cousins; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Richard R. Johnson; brother, Eldon Marvell; and an infant twin brother, Louis.

Funeral service will be at
10 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the Chapel of Short Funeral Home in Mt. Carmel. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.

 

 

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
