Kathleen McCandless, 87, of Winslow, went to be with her Lord Wednesday June 3 at her residence.

Born Dec. 5, 1921 in Pike County, she was the daughter of Otho P. and Valentine Conder Amos.

She was married in 1940 in Owensboro, Ky. to Lawrence Pud McCandless.

She retired from the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City. She attended the Full Gospel Church in Oakland City.

Survivors include four daughters, Lanora Sue (Benny) Kelley of Winslow, Janet Fithian of Winslow, Faye (Ernie) Johns of Winslow, Judy (Hubert) Loveless of Oakland City, two sons, Lawrence Buster (Trea) McCandless of Winslow, Larry (Brenda) McCandless of Evansville. 13 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Pud McCandless on May 2, 1985; sister, Lucille Donham; brother, Denzil Amos; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the Winslow Christian Church, 501 N. Walnut St., Winslow. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Pike County.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday June 5, 2009 at the church. Curtis Funeral Home in Winslow is handling arrangements.
