Kirby Phillips, 74, Winslow, died Friday, May 15, 2009, at 1:07 p.m. at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

He was born in Oatsville
Jan. 21, 1935, son of Cleo and Ethel (Lytle) Phillips.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from 39 years of employment at Whirlpool Corp. He was a member of the
Winslow Nazarene Church.

Surviving are his wife Shanna (Miley) Phillips of Petersburg, whom he married July 31, 1971; son Jeff (Pam) Phillips of Petersburg; daughter Tammy Riley of Oakland City; stepsons Terry Weathers of Phoenix, Ariz., Donnie Weathers of Huntington, Texas and Rick Weathers of Chattanooga, Tenn.; stepdaughter Debbie (Mike) Russell of Winslow; brothers Wayne and Mel Phillips of North Fort Myers, Fla., and Raymond Phillips of Marion; a sister, Shirley Hatfield of Kokomo and 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services are at
10 a.m. Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with burial at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Petersburg, Garrett Sloan officiating. Graveside military rites will be performed by Petersburg VFW Post 3587.

Visitation is from
3-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
