Nellouise (Mason) Ross, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 1:10 A.M. at her home in Tennessee Ridge, Tennessee.

Born
Dec. 13, 1918 in Petersburg, she was the daughter of Louis Donald and Alta Bernice (Lamb) Mason.

The family moved to
Oakland City where Nellouise atended and graduated from high school. She was a gifted and caring person and made friends wherever she lived.

Nellouise was a Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, a member of the Women's Club and a Kentucky Colonel. She retired from Soil Conservation Service in
Greenville, Ky. in 1979.

She married Amos Ross
Dec. 7, 1941 in The Church of the Nazarene in Oakland City.

Survivors include her husband, Amos Ross; children , Stephen Mason Ross and wife, Judy, of Lexington, Tenn., Robert Paul Ross and wife, Stephanie, of Louisville, Ky, David Michael Ross and wife, Donna, of Utica, Ky., Carolyn Ann and husband, William Vaughan of Tennessee Ridge, Tenn.; brother, Edward Mason and wife, Betty of Salem; and sister-in-law, Lucile Mason of Du Quoin, Ill. Nellouise was blessed with 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Eugene Mason; and sister, Mable Frances Mason.

 

Nellouise donated her remains to Vanderbilt University Medical School in Nashville, Tenn.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at The New Testament Christian Church in Central City, Ky.
